Canadian rapper Drake confirmed that he is at least vegetarian on live gaming platform Twitch this week. He got together with Twitch personality Tyler 'Ninja' Belvins to competitively game in one of the platform's most-watched livestreams.
He and Tyler were discussing food when the controversial questions was asked, "Does pineapple belong on pizza?" Drake stated "I feel like a chicken and pineapple pizza could work, but I don't eat meat anymore so."
This wasn't the first allusion to a dietary change. Last week Drake posted a photo on instagram of him and a friend arguing with the caption "If two vegans are angry at each other...is it beef?"
While Drake did say he doesn't eat meat anymore, he was eating pizza. Could the pizza have been vegan? Who knows, but either way we are so stoked that an increasing number of pop-culture icons have decided to do good by themselves, the planet, and the animals. Another artist to ditch meat is Beyoncè, announcing that she has gone vegan for the 44 days leading up to Coachella. While she has adopted a plant-based diet for health, these announcements still create massive change and inspire people to cut animal-products from their diet.
